Misspelling would be less frequent if more people were aware that it is after Sir John A. and Sir George that the Bridge is named.

Pont enjambant la rivière des Outaouais entre Hull (Québec) et Ottawa (Ontario). Inauguration : le 15 octobre 1965, sous le nom officiel de "pont Macdonald-Cartier". Cependant, les Francophones ont toujours prétendu que l'élément le plus court, "Cartier", devait se placer devant, point de vue entériné par la Commission de toponymie du Québec.
